Our client is a well-established Tier 2 construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments across NSW. With a healthy pipeline of projects and continued growth, they are looking to add an Accountant to their collaborative finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2 years' accounting experience within the construction, property or project-based industry who is looking to develop their career alongside an experienced Finance Manager.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll gain exposure to the full accounting function while supporting multiple construction projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with month-end reporting, journals and reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assisting with subcontractor payments, progress claims and payment schedules
- Supporting project cost tracking and financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations
- Assisting with BAS, payroll tax, superannuation and other statutory reporting
- Supporting external audits and year-end processes
- Contributing to process improvements across finance systems and reporting
- Around 2 years' accounting experience within construction, property, infrastructure or another project-based environment
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Progress towards CPA or CA (or an interest in commencing)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, JobPac, Cheops, SAP or similar ERP systems
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
