Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Administration Assistant.
  
Contract: 3 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $50 p/h + Super
  
Responsibilities: 
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to Managers, Supervisors and Technical staff across Waste and Cleansing Services, Infrastructure Services and other Operations sections.
  • Provide high-quality customer service by responding to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries, resolving concerns and ensuring enquiries are managed in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Manage and maintain Customer Requests, TRIM records, work orders, electronic correspondence, databases and spreadsheets, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Provide administrative support for Waste Customer Service functions, including maintaining knowledge of Council policies, fees and operational requirements.
  • Prepare correspondence, acknowledgement letters, reports, memos, requisitions and other documentation, including researching information and drafting responses in consultation with relevant staff.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, bookings and Council Committee documentation, including preparing agendas, attachments and minutes in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Assist with purchasing and invoice processing, data entry, mail and file management, office supplies and other general administrative functions.
  • Maintain and update information relating to operational programs, including Council’s Street Sweeping contract, policies, procedures and departmental records.
  • Assist with the training and support of new and existing staff in the use of Council systems, including new and upgraded processes and technology.
  • Work collaboratively across Operations to provide administrative support, identify opportunities to improve administrative systems and processes, and provide back-up support to the Executive Assistant and other administration staff.
  
Essential:
  • 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume administrative role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution within a customer service environment.
  • Previous experience working in a large office environment with a high volume of work.
  • Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
