This is a two-year contract (03/08/2026 – 02/08/2028) paying $60.06 per hour plus superannuation - and it's a genuinely unique role for finance professionals who've worked at the intersection of numbers and projects.
The Role
You'll join a finance team embedded in the delivery of major civil infrastructure projects across the region, working directly alongside Project Managers to keep approximately 500 active projects financially on track. This isn't a back-office finance role - you'll be close to the action, building strong working relationships with project delivery teams and providing advice that directly influences outcomes on the ground.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Checking, preparing, and submitting financial approval documentation
- Processing Building Infrastructure Fairness (BIF) claims
- Preparing and submitting general and timesheet journals
- Undertaking contract reconciliations
- Reviewing and actioning cost sheet line-item requests
- Liaising with Project Managers on financial requirements
- Maintaining tracking registers in Excel and SharePoint Online
- Carrying out governance checks and following up outstanding items
- Supporting and training team members and Project Managers as needed
This role suits someone who understands finance but is equally comfortable in a project or infrastructure environment. You'll thrive here if you can translate financial data into practical advice for non-finance stakeholders and keep pace in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting.
You'll bring:
- Solid financial administration experience - ideally gained in a civil infrastructure, construction, or project delivery context
- An understanding of project finance, contract management, or capital works administration
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver clear, timely advice
- Experience with 3PCM and/or SAP - highly regarded and likely to set your application apart
- Proficiency in Excel and SharePoint Online
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to liaise directly with Project Managers
- Accountability, attention to detail, and genuine respect for policy and governance frameworks
- Two-year contract - real security in a temporary market
- Sunshine Coast location (Buderim)
- Hands-on exposure to large-scale civil infrastructure delivery
- Competitive hourly rate with super on top
