Public Sector People are partnering with a State Government Department to recruit an experienced AO5 Graphic Designer for a full‑time temporary contract through to May 2026, with potential extension!
As the Graphic Designer, you’ll play a key role in producing high‑quality, creative visual content that supports departmental initiatives across digital, print, marketing, social media, and internal channels. You will report to the Senior Graphic Designer and work within a fast‑moving Communications and Media team responsible for design services, digital channel management, brand governance, media and issues management, and strategic communications.
You’ll contribute to impactful creative outputs ranging from publications and marketing collateral to digital assets, presentations, animations and multimedia content—supporting an organisation preparing Queensland for major sporting and community outcomes.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Deliver high‑quality graphic design materials for digital, web, EDMs, social media, print publications, presentations, advertising and marketing materials.
- Apply advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) to develop professional, creative and brand‑aligned designs.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and team members to interpret briefs, provide expert design advice, and meet client needs and feedback.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
- Ensure all design work aligns with whole‑of‑government branding requirements, guidelines and standards.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and agile team culture focused on collaboration and high‑quality outcomes.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality graphic design across digital and print.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, versatility and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with multiple internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Queensland Government brand guidelines will be highly regarded.
- Experience in multimedia (animation, video, photography, editing) is an advantage.
- Ability to work confidently in a PC-based environment.
- Positive, proactive attitude and ability to “hit the ground running”.
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid working rights.
