Public Sector People  are working with State Government organization in Sunshine Coast who have seeking an  AO5 Senior Safety Advisor  to join their Operational Safety team.

** Safety Advisor experience in road maintenance, construction, or a similar field. **

The role:
  • AO5 Senior Safety Advisor
  • ASAP START | High Profile State Government Department 
  • Pay up to $75.09 per hour + 12% super
  • Weekly pay
  • Caloundra, Sunshine Coast
  • Initial 6-month contract + extension
  
What you will be doing:

  • Perform a frontline advisory and support role to managers and operational staff within the Infrastructure Management and Delivery (IMD) division, providing work health and safety (WHS) advice and support.
  • The role reports to local operations, but will work with health and safety practitioners across IMD and throughout Queensland to support the delivery of the divisional model for WHS.
  • The role will focus on the effective management of health and safety for our workers and work / workplaces the division directly manages and controls.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of WHS programs, systems and processes, ensuring alignment with legislative and public sector requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring and analysing WHS data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and support evidence-based decision making.
  
About you:

  • We are seeking a capable and values‑driven safety advisor with strong knowledge and experience in civil construction and transport infrastructure practices
  • Leads by example and sets clear expectations for quality and performance.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion while working independently or in teams within agreed priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records, seek feedback to continuously improve your performance, and know when to ask for support to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Ability to negotiate and apply conflict resolution skills to influence outcomes at all levels.
Requirements:
  • Predominantly Day Shift 6am-6pm, but dictated by priority projects may require late shifts
  • Safety Advisor experience in road maintenance, construction, or a similar field
  • Accurate reporting, record‑keeping, and evidence collection
  • Applicants must possess a current White Card.
  • A vailable ASAP
