- Contract until 30th June with potential extension
- Hourly Rate: $78.02 plus super
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end financial processes
- Prepare compliant financial statements and associated working papers
- Deliver high-quality variance analysis and financial performance commentary
- Support budget development, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage asset accounting functions including valuation, capitalisation, and depreciation
- Respond to internal and external audit requests
- Provide expert financial advice to internal stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial systems and reporting processes
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting roles (government experience highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and public sector financial frameworks
- Advanced financial analysis and reporting skills
- Experience working with large ERP systems
- High attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- CPA/CA qualified or progressing towards certification (desirable)
- Work with a collaborative and supportive government finance team
