Public Sector People are recruiting for an experienced AO6 Senior Procurement Officer on behalf of a State Government Department. As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will play an important role in delivering efficient, cost-effective, and risk-managed procurement services in the department.

Core Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading Full Sourcing Cycles: Spearhead complex, end-to-end procurement projects across diverse categories, including specialist equipment, general goods and services, Information Technology Contracting, and large-scale building construction and maintenance works.
- Contract Execution: Expertly manage the entire contracting process: planning, specification development, tendering, rigorous evaluation, and negotiating final agreements, ensuring strict adherence to the Queensland Procurement Policy and relevant Australian Standard Contract Conditions.
- Specialised Agreements: Develop and formalise non-procurement-based agreements, such as Service Level Agreementsor Memorandums of Understanding, with Non-Government Organisations and other public sector entities.
- Value Optimisation: Continuously seek out and champion new opportunities to secure greater commercial returns and savings from every sourcing initiative undertaken.
- System Integration: Actively support the implementation of procurement best practices mandated across the broader whole-of-Government and relevant public sector systems.

You are a highly capable and experienced professional who demonstrates:
- Proven Procurement Leadership: Extensive experience leading the full lifecycle of complex procurement projects and sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable increases in value for money.
- Complex Contract Expertise: Deep experience with contract and supplier management strategies, including strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex tender evaluations and resolve supplier performance issues. Experience with relevant Australian Standard Contract Conditions is highly regarded.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage complex customer issues, support internal stakeholders with specification development, and thrive in a dynamic, multi-category environment.
- Government Experience: For this role, candidates with a background within Queensland Government Procurement are highly regarded.
