AO7 Principal Advisor Communications and Engagement

The successful applicate will be the driving force behind workforce communications and engagement during enterprise bargaining—helping ensure staff stay informed, involved, and aligned throughout the process.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Lead communication strategies to support the enterprise bargaining process, ensuring the workforce is well-informed and engaged.
- Create tailored, multi-channel messaging that effectively explains employment condition offers and cuts through with clarity and impact.
- Develop briefing materials and speaking notes to support leadership in cascading clear, consistent messaging across all levels.
- Produce engaging visual communication products to support understanding and uptake.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of a dedicated intranet page for bargaining communications.
- Identify and tailor content for various workforce segments, addressing specific needs and concerns.
- Advise senior leaders, including the Senior Director of Workforce Relations and Policy, on communication and engagement strategy and delivery.
About you:
- A strong background in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement, ideally in large and complex organisations.
- Experience delivering high-impact, multi-modal communication for projects with broad workforce implications.
- Project management capability, with the ability to deliver on time, within scope, and with measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional interpersonal and consultation skills to influence, inform, and engage across a wide stakeholder base.
- Strong visual communication and design skills across digital and print platforms.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills to assess risks, gaps, and opportunities in workforce engagement.
- To succeed in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate:
- Proven success in developing and delivering innovative engagement initiatives.
- Ability to manage large-scale projects independently and collaboratively.
- High-level advisory experience—especially in complex, fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
- Strong consultation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Other Useful Things to Know
- Experience in industrial relations or enterprise agreement communications will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications in communications, change management, or visual design are desirable but not essential.
