We're seeking a candidate with demonstrated strengths in the following areas:
- Drafting and Negotiating Complex Agreements: You have the ability to prepare and negotiate high-risk commercial term sheets and complex agreements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: You have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of effectively engaging and building relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: You possess an advanced ability to interpret and analyze investment proposals, drawing clear conclusions and making sound recommendations to key decision-makers.
- Commitment to Integrity: You are committed to maintaining a high level of governance, probity, and confidentiality.
As an Investment and Commercial Agreements Expert, you will:
- Assess and Mitigate Risk: Prepare assessments of the commercial and economic merits of private sector investment proposals, focusing on project risk and potential mitigation strategies.
- Draft and Negotiate: Draft and negotiate term sheets for high-risk or complex investment agreements, providing clear instructions to legal advisors.
- Build Relationships: Engage with and build a network of stakeholders to identify and facilitate high-value investment opportunities.
- Prepare Key Documents: Prepare briefing notes, reports, and correspondence in response to investment inquiries and proposals.
- Manage Agreements: Undertake agreement management functions, including assessing conditions precedent and verifying claims.
Role Requirements
To be the right fit for this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor of Laws degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of post-admission experience
in:
- Commercial contract negotiation and drafting.
- Resolving complex commercial issues and risk mitigation for industry and infrastructure projects.
- Drafting Term Sheets.
