The Opportunity:

A well-established and independently owned design and construction studio is seeking a BIM Lead with strong documentation skills to join their team in Melbourne. Known for their thoughtfully executed commercial fit-outs and a people-first culture, this business is committed to creating exceptional environments for their clients — and for their own team.
Working across a range of commercial interiors, this role will see you at the forefront of BIM leadership, documentation standards, and project delivery. It’s an exciting opportunity to step into a pivotal position within a collaborative and design-led studio that values initiative, innovation, and a good sense of humour.

What You'll Be Doing:

BIM Management & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain BIM execution plans, templates, and project-wide standards
  • Lead the implementation of BIM workflows from early design through to construction documentation
  • Set up and drive project-specific modelling strategies and coordination protocols
Project Support & Documentation
  • Oversee BIM model production and quality control for interior fit-out projects
  • Manage coordination of architectural and furniture models, clash detection, and spatial planning
  • Develop detailed construction documentation in Revit, including GA plans, RCPs, joinery and construction details
  • Ensure compliance with client briefs, project timelines, and industry standards
Team Leadership
  • Act as the BIM go-to across the studio
  • Mentor and support the team in software use and best practice workflows
  • Assist design teams with technical challenges and efficient BIM use throughout the project lifecycle
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and clients on model exchanges and deliverables
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings and implement updates to improve model accuracy and performance
Technology & Innovation
  • Stay across industry trends, new digital tools, and BIM-related plugins
  • Continually refine processes to improve design efficiency and documentation quality
What We're Looking For:
  • A degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • 5+ years’ experience in a BIM-heavy role, ideally in commercial interiors
  • Advanced Revit skills; proficiency in Enscape, and BIM 360
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, joinery detailing, and building codes
  • Clear communicator with strong organisational and leadership abilities
  • IFC experience, Dynamo scripting
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
  • Creative freedom to contribute ideas and shape processes
  • Supportive leadership that knows the industry inside out
  • Diverse project exposure, including global clients
  • A positive, down-to-earth studio culture with a strong emphasis on team wellbeing
  • Hybrid work model and fair remuneration that reflects experience
