The Role
As a Business Development Manager – Embedded Networks, you will drive new business growth by identifying, developing, and closing opportunities with property developers and project partners across Australia. You’ll own the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to signed agreements, leveraging your understanding of energy markets, metering, and embedded network regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with property developers, builders, and consultants to identify and win new embedded network projects.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting to contract negotiation and handover to delivery teams.
- Educate customers on the financial, technical, and compliance benefits of embedded networks and on-site energy infrastructure.
- Work closely with internal engineering, projects, and compliance teams to tailor proposals and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Track, forecast, and report on pipeline performance using CRM tools.
- Stay current with AEMO, AER, and NER regulatory changes affecting embedded networks.
- Proven BDM or Account Management experience in energy, utilities, or related infrastructure (ideally embedded networks).
- Existing developer or property market relationships highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen and consultative selling skills.
- Understanding of metering, network exemptions, and behind-the-meter systems preferred.
- Self-starter with a hunter mentality and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Base salary:$130,000
- OTE:$250,000 – $300,000 (uncapped commissions)
