Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Business Support Officer.
  
Contract: 11 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $50 p/h + Super
  
Responsibilities: 

  • Draft routine correspondence, maintain high quality reporting standards, and prepare and distribute bi weekly reports on outstanding items.
  • Liaise with internal teams to follow up on overdue communications and gather additional information required to finalise responses.
  • Prepare and execute mail merge processes, ensuring completed and approved responses are accurately processed and dispatched.
  • Provide comprehensive business, administrative, and project support to the correspondence team and assist managers with a range of reporting and operational tasks. This includes coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, booking venues, organising catering, and managing office supplies and uniform orders.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient filing system to ensure records are accurately stored and easily accessible, in line with best practices in customer service and information management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, organisational, and policy requirements, including standards related to Equal Employment Opportunity, Workplace Health and Safety, and Rehabilitation.
  
Essential:
  • Holds relevant tertiary qualifications in office management, accounting, or business administration, or possesses equivalent experience in administrative and clerical roles.
  • Proven experience in office coordination, including the delivery of high quality administrative and support services across diverse teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates maturity, discretion, and sound judgement, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Well developed project coordination skills, including the ability to conduct research, analyse issues, and deliver accurate and timely responses.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing work demands while supporting multiple managers and team members in a dynamic environment.
