Public Sector People are working with the QLD State Gov in Brisbane CBD who are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Change) to lead a critical stream within the Portfolio and Financial Management Improvement (PFMI) Program.
  
This role will focus on driving portfolio management maturity, governance, assurance frameworks and business transformation initiatives across the Infrastructure Services Division.

  • Initial Contract until 30th June 2027 + potential extension

Position Overview
  
  • Develop and implement project governance, assurance and prioritisation frameworks.
  • Deliver business improvement and transformation initiatives from start to finish.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports and executive updates.
  • Lead project teams and coordinate activities across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues and project impacts.
  • Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead a key project stream focused on improving portfolio management across the department.
  • Manage project plans, timelines, priorities, milestones and dependencies.
  • Work closely with project teams, business areas and senior stakeholders to keep delivery on track.
  
What We Are Looking For
  
  • Experience managing complex projects or programs.
  • Strong skills in project planning, governance and risk management.
  • Experience delivering business transformation or change initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate diverse teams.
  • Experience developing business processes, frameworks or governance models.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft project and workflow management tools.
  • Knowledge of project management and change management methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment with competing priorities.
  
Highly Desirable:
  
  • PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project management certification.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Construction or related disciplines.
  • Experience within infrastructure, construction, asset management or major capital delivery environments.
  • Experience delivering projects within government or large, complex organisations.
