We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a well-established contractor delivering complex construction and infrastructure projects across a variety of sectors.

You will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders and supporting the successful delivery of projects from bid stage through to handover. 

This position is ideal for a commercially astute professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit accurate and competitive tender proposals.
  • Review project documentation including drawings, specifications, schedules, and bills of quantities.
  • Develop construction methodologies, staging plans, programs, and pricing strategies.
  • Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Participate in tender reviews and ensure compliance with internal governance procedures.
  • Attend client meetings, site inspections, and tender presentations as required.
  • Assess subcontractor capabilities and undertake tender clarification meetings.
  • Maintain tender registers, bid tracking systems, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate project handovers to delivery teams upon award.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior estimating personnel.
  • Contribute to process improvements within estimating and tendering functions.
  • Assist with identifying future project opportunities and supporting business growth initiatives.
Profile:
  • 5+ years' estimating experience within construction, civil infrastructure, remediation, demolition, or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery principles.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software such as MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documentation.
  • Sound commercial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on achieving outcomes.
  • Commitment to accountability, ownership, and delivering on commitments.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to consistently perform in a fast-paced environment.
