About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join a well-established specialist civil contractor delivering commercial civil works across metro Melbourne. Operating across earthworks, concrete, and civil infrastructure scopes, this business works alongside some of Australia's leading head contractors on a diverse range of projects including hospitals, schools, data centres, and commercial builds. All projects are metro Melbourne based, offering stability and work-life balance without the need for FIFO or extended travel. A vehicle is provided with the role.
Key Responsibilities of the Civil Supervisor
- Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities across commercial project sites in metro Melbourne.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, labour, and plant to deliver works safely, on programme, and to the required quality standard.
- Monitor daily progress and address any delays, issues, or inefficiencies promptly.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Liaise with the project engineer and project manager on scope, programme, and site matters.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks across civil works.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and documentation.
- Drive a strong safety culture across the site team and subcontractor workforce.
- Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor or leading hand within a commercial civil construction environment — essential.
- Background in earthworks, concrete, or civil infrastructure scopes preferred.
- Experience working for or alongside head contractors on commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, and subcontractor management.
- Solid knowledge of site safety requirements and WHS obligations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse site workforce.
- Valid driver's licence and white card.
- Based in Melbourne or willing to be.
