Position: Commercial Manager 
Project: Energy 
Roster: 5:2 (FIFO OR DIDO, home every weekend)
Salary:$220 - $240k + super + bonus (housing provided by client)

Opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager with strong EPC project experience and advanced cost forecasting capability to support the delivery of a major energy project.

As the Commercial Manager you will lead the commercial management of complex contracts, with responsibility for cost forecasting, claims and variations management, contract compliance, and commercial risk mitigation. You will work closely with project leadership, contractors, and project controls teams to protect commercial outcomes and maintain strong financial oversight.

This position suits a Commercial Manager that has worked on major infrastructure and/or EPC style projects, that are keen to transition in to renewable energy lead projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Manager
  • Lead cost forecasting, commercial reporting and financial performance monitoring across the project.
  • Identify commercial risks and cost exposures, developing mitigation strategies
  • Assess the commercial impact of claims, variations and contractor performance on project cost and schedule.
  • Provide strategic commercial advice to project leadership to protect cost outcomes.
  • Prepare commercial reports and analysis on contract performance and cost impacts.
  • Manage the commercial administration of the main contractor, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee claims, variations and contractual negotiations with contractors.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records, notices and contract documentation.
  • Evaluate contractor submissions and ensure outcomes align with project objectives and contractual frameworks.
Skills & Experience required from the Commercial Manager
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law or similar.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Commercial Management or Contracts Management on major infrastructure or EPC projects.
  • Strong expertise in cost forecasting, claims management and contract administration.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex contractor claims and variations.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, stakeholder engagement and negotiation capability.
