About the Role:
As a Commercial Property Officer you will be responsible for managing Council's commercial property portfolio, including land tenure matters, leasing and licensing of Council-owned land, lease administration, property transactions and stakeholder engagement. You'll provide technical advice on complex property matters while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and supporting strategic property initiatives.

- Manage commercial leasing, licensing and land tenure matters across Council's property portfolio.
- Develop lease agreements, management agreements and land management plans.
- Interpret and apply relevant property legislation while ensuring compliance.
- Coordinate property transactions, contract negotiations and leasing activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, commercial organisations and community groups.
- Contribute to strategic property planning and commercial development initiatives.
- Experience in commercial property, land administration or property management.
- Ability to develop or manage lease agreements, licences and land management plans.
- Strong understanding of property-related legislation, ideally including the Lands Act 1994, Local Government Act 2009, Native Title (Qld) Act 1993 and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003.
- Experience coordinating contracts and negotiating commercial leases or licences.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and organisational skills.
- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
- Previous Local Government experience will be highly regarded.
