I am partnering with a commercial civil contracting company to hire for a qualified Company Accountant (CA/CPA) to oversee the full accounting function across a growing group of companies.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional from a medium–large business environment who enjoys both hands-on accounting and partnering with leadership to drive informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end processes including reconciliations, journals, accruals, and fixed assets
- Oversee payroll processing and statutory obligations (GST, BAS, tax, FBT, ABS reporting)
- Support cashflow management, banking, AP/AR oversight, and debtor monitoring
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, cashflow reports, and management reporting packs
- Assist with year-end accounts, tax preparation, and external audits
- Partner with department heads to provide financial insights, cost analysis, and budgeting support
- Maintain and improve financial systems, procedures, and internal controls
- CA or CPA qualified (essential)
- Proven experience in a Company Accountant role within a medium–large organisation
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and compliance expertise
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (MYOB and advanced Excel highly regarded)
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
