Our client is a specialist EPC contractor focused exclusively on heavy duty EV charging infrastructure, delivering depot charging solutions for fleet operators from design through to energisation. They work at the intersection of high voltage electrical infrastructure and the accelerating shift to electric fleets, with a growing pipeline of projects serving some of Australia's largest transport and logistics operators. This is a tight-knit team that moves quickly, takes quality seriously and is building something genuinely significant in the Australian market.
The Role
This is a hands-on construction leadership role sitting at the sharp end of project delivery. You'll own the build phase across active depot sites in Sydney, keeping projects on programme, on budget and to spec while managing the full cast of subcontractors, client relationships and site compliance. It's not a desk role. You'll be on site, solving problems in real time and representing the business directly with clients day to day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing end-to-end site delivery of EV charging and HV infrastructure projects across commercial and industrial depots
- Coordinating electrical, civil and structural subcontractors across concurrent workstreams
- Owning programme, cost, quality and HSE across all active projects
- Liaising with clients, DNSPs and project engineers on technical, commercial and programme matters
- Driving RFIs, site instructions and construction documentation through to close
- Reporting progress and flagging risks early to the wider project team
Background and experience
- Proven construction management experience on electrical infrastructure, HV or industrial EPC projects
- Background in design-and-construct or EPC delivery preferred
- Solid understanding of Australian electrical standards, HV work practices and utility connection processes
- Strong HSE credentials including White Card and relevant state licences
- EV charging or emerging energy infrastructure experience is a genuine advantage, though not essential
- Comfortable running a site independently and managing multiple workstreams without close supervision
- Confident working directly with clients on site at both operational and senior levels
- Sharp eye for programme and cost risk, with the ability to get ahead of problems before they escalate
- Practically minded with strong documentation discipline
- Genuine interest in the energy transition and the infrastructure enabling it
- A specialist business working exclusively in heavy duty EV charging, not a generalist contractor with an EV line item
- A growing pipeline of depot charging projects with real institutional fleet operators
- Fully on-site role in Sydney with direct client exposure from day one
- Strong career development pathway as the business scales its delivery capability nationally
