About the Role
The Coordinator Civil Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing Council’s civil infrastructure maintenance, renewal and cleaning services, delivered through a major integrated services contract. This includes roads, drainage, footpaths, and associated civil assets, along with cleaning and maintenance programs across the municipality.
A major focus of the role is contract performance and operational delivery — ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while continuing to mature reporting, analytics and performance frameworks. You will lead a small team of contract management and civil professionals, supporting them to operate effectively in a complex, high-volume service environment.
The role also plays an important part in driving continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery, and strengthening systems, processes and contractor accountability. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and the community to ensure services are responsive, well-coordinated and aligned with Council priorities.

About You
You are an experienced civil operations and contract management leader, ideally with a background in engineering or infrastructure services, and bring confidence operating in complex, high-volume local government environments. You enjoy improving service delivery, strengthening systems and introducing better use of data where processes may have been underdeveloped.
Comfortable leading specialist staff and working closely with contractors, you balance a firm and commercially astute approach with the ability to bring people along through change. A strong customer and community focus underpins your ability to manage competing priorities.
Your experience includes strong contract management capability, sound commercial judgement and an improvement mindset, along with the confidence to ask the right questions about performance, efficiency and value. You are motivated by the opportunity to shape a role and strengthen civil service delivery at Bayside.
