Public Sector People is partnering exclusively with Clarence Valley Council to recruit a Coordinator Project Management.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager or Project Management leader who enjoys delivering infrastructure projects but also wants the chance to influence how projects are managed across an organisation.
You'll lead Council's Project Management Office, support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil and building infrastructure projects, mentor an emerging team and drive continuous improvement in project management practices across Council.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Infrastructure, you'll lead a small, high-performing team responsible for delivering projects that make a genuine difference to the Clarence Valley community.
The team delivers everything from local infrastructure upgrades and community facilities through to major precinct developments and multi-million-dollar capital works.
Depending on the project, you'll oversee internal project managers, support delivery yourself or manage external consultants and contractors on Council's behalf.
Alongside project delivery, you'll play an important role in continuing to strengthen Council's Project Management Office by improving project governance, refining systems and processes and helping embed consistent project management practices across the organisation.
It's a rare opportunity to combine leadership, project delivery and continuous improvement in one role.
About you
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, leading people and delivering quality infrastructure outcomes.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience delivering civil infrastructure, construction or major capital projects.
- Strong contract administration and procurement experience.
- The ability to lead, mentor or develop project teams.
- Confidence managing consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to influence people across an organisation.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
