Reporting to an experienced Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in supporting the finance function and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely financial information.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-based environment and wants to contribute to continuous improvement across finance processes.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Prepare and post month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
- Support monthly and annual reporting cycles
- Assist with statutory reporting, including BAS and payroll tax
- Deliver insightful financial analysis and ad hoc reports
- Maintain and manage the general ledger
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
- Oversee fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory returns
- Support project trust accounting requirements
- Review and process supplier invoices
- Support timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist with expense management and project invoicing
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- Proven experience in a similar accounting role
- Construction industry experience (highly regarded)
- Progressing towards or holding CPA/CA (desirable)
- Strong Excel and ERP system experience
- High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
