I’m recruiting for a Senior Cost Planner to join a well-established national Tier 2 builder based in Sydney. This is a key role within a high-performing pre-construction team, focused on bids and tenders across commercial, health and education projects.
The business is a privately-owned, values-led contractor with over 30 years’ experience delivering projects across the east coast of Australia, known for its collaborative culture, repeat client base and consistent pipeline of work.
The Role:
- Lead cost planning and tender submissions across mixed use residential, commercial, health and education projects
- Develop detailed cost plans and pricing strategies from early design through to tender stage
- Manage subcontractor engagement, including scope alignment, pricing and market coverage across key trades
- Review and analyse subcontractor returns, identifying risks, gaps and value engineering opportunities
- Work closely with design, delivery and client teams to drive buildability and cost outcomes
- Contribute to bid strategy and support handover to delivery teams, including budgets and key commercial inputs
- Proven experience as a Cost Planner or Senior Cost Planner working for a head contractor
- Strong background delivering tenders on mixed use residential, commercial, health, or education projects
- Experience across projects typically ranging from $50M–$300M+
- Strong technical understanding of building methodologies, services and buildability
- High level of commercial acumen with the ability to balance competitiveness and risk
