Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Customer Service Administrator.
  
Contract: 2 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $40 - $43 p/h + Super
  
Responsibilities: 

  • Process and issue a range of council permits, ensuring applications are complete, accurate, and compliant with relevant guidelines.
  • Manage incoming enquiries related to permits, regulations, and application status via phone, email, and front‑counter support.
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems with application details, approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with internal teams to clarify requirements, seek approvals, and escalate complex enquiries where needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Customer Service team, including data entry, document preparation, filing, and general office tasks.
  • Monitor shared inboxes and respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with preparing letters, permits, invoices, and other correspondence for customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all customer information and permit documentation are stored and handled in line with council policies and privacy requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and suggesting efficiencies.
  • Support the wider Customer Service team during peak periods, high enquiry volumes, or when additional administrative coverage is required.
  
Essential:
  • 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
  • Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
