Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Customer Service Officer.
Contract: 3 -4 weeks | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $45 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Provided front-line customer service via phone, email, and in-person at council service centres.
- Assisted residents with enquiries about rates, permits, waste services, and community programs.
- Logged service requests and complaints using council systems (e.g. Pathway, CRM).
- Processed payments, applications, and bookings for council services and facilities.
- Explained council policies and procedures clearly to customers.
- Escalated complex issues to relevant departments and followed up to ensure resolution.
- Maintained accurate records and updated customer information.
- Supported community engagement by promoting council initiatives and events.
- Handled sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Contributed to a positive team environment and continuous service improvement.
Essential:
- 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
- Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
