This role sits within the development team, playing a critical part in driving projects from planning through approvals and into delivery.
The Role
You will take ownership of the design management process across multiple projects, ensuring outcomes align with both the commercial and delivery objectives of a developer-builder.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing the full design process from planning through to approvals
- Writing and maintaining design programmes and timelines
- Coordinating and managing external consultants (architects, engineers, etc.)
- Leading and facilitating design workshops and meetings
- Driving design outcomes that align with cost, buildability, and programme targets
- Working closely with internal development and delivery teams
About You
You’ll be commercially aware, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where projects are ready to move quickly. We’re open to candidates from a building, engineering, or architectural background, however the following is essential:
- At least 3 years' working for a developer-builder or builder
- Strong understanding of what developers require from a design perspective
- Proven experience managing the end-to-end design process
- Ability to confidently manage consultants and drive outcomes
- Experience writing and managing design programmes
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
