Designer Manager
Design & Build is partnering with a nationally established head contractor operating the past 10 years across the Gold Coast and Melbourne who are looking to add an experienced Design Manager or qualified Design Coordinator to their team located on the Gold Coast. This head contractor is nationally recognised for their delivery of exceptional outcomes across the residential, retirement living, affordable housing, and commercial sectors.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator who can confidently bring people, processes, and projects together. We're seeking a professional who can excel in leading the design process, aligning clients, consultants, stakeholders, programme requirements, commercial objectives, and project vision into a cohesive and deliverable outcome.
The Role
You will be involved across all project stages, contributing to concept development, design refinement and detailed documentation. Working closely with senior designers and consultants, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes that align with regulatory requirements and project timelines.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree qualification in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Property, or a related discipline
- 5+ years' experience as a Design Coordinator or Design Manager
- Experience in the residential, retirement living, affordable housing, mixed-use, or commercial space
- Strong understanding of design development, planning approvals, consultant management, and construction methodologies
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance design outcomes, programme, and budget considerations
- Cafes and restaurants within walking distance
