Position: Design Manager

Key responsibilities for the Design Manager:
- Design management: Leading a multidisciplinary design team to deliver the high-quality technical project on time.
- Stakeholder management: Liaising with client, internal and external teams, and construction to ensure alignment and integration of design solutions.
- Cost management: Monitoring and controlling design expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns.
- Design governance: Ensuring all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes.
- Technical oversight: Directing primary & secondary design, conducting design reviews, and collaborating with external consultants on electrical studies.
- Proven experience as a Design Manager similar on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).
- Primary design engineering experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
- CPEng or working towards it
- Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia)
