Salary: $94,478.15- $109,466.82 + Super + Leaseback /Car Allowance

Public Sector People are proud to be partnering with Georges River Council to recruit a passionate and capable Development Assessment Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the assessment of development applications and contribute to the delivery of great planning outcomes for the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Coordinator Development Assessment, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing a range of development applications and preparing associated reports
- Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with planning legislation and Council policies
- Providing clear, courteous advice to developers, community members, and other stakeholders
- Responding to enquiries and correspondence in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting the development of planning certificates and planning policy implementation
- Contributing to Land and Environment Court matters as required
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and staying up to date with planning reforms
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Sound understanding of building and planning practices, ideally in a local government setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence
- Ability to present planning matters clearly and accurately
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work across departments
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- A customer-focused attitude and a commitment to service excellence
