In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of maintenance and capital works projects, helping ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable transport infrastructure for the community.
You’ll work closely with senior engineers, operational teams, and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the project management and supervision of civil maintenance, operations, and construction works
- Support delivery of the annual maintenance and capital works programs
- Prepare and review cost estimates for minor works
- Contribute to budget planning, financial tracking, and reporting
- Assist in developing and reviewing policies and procedures relating to road, drainage, and transport infrastructure
- Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and the community to ensure effective project coordination
- Support preparation of reports, briefings, and correspondence
- Assist with contract preparation and administration
- Ensure compliance with work health and safety, environmental, and quality standards
About You
You are a practical and detail-oriented civil engineer who enjoys working on diverse infrastructure projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in civil construction, maintenance, or infrastructure delivery
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and civil works practices
- Current Queensland C Class Driver’s License
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Desirable
- Experience in local government or similar environment
- Traffic management design experience
- Project management experience across multiple projects
- Local Gov experience
- Road maintenance/ reseal experience
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of road, drainage, and transport infrastructure
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, and reporting
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound understanding of WHS, environmental, and asset management principles
