Public Sector People are partnering with an Australian government organisation to recruit for an Environmental Compliance Officer.
Contract: 5 months temp contract | Immediate Start | 35 hours weekly, 2 days WFH
Salary: $60 - $75 depending on experience and suitably for role
Responsibilities:
- Assess and provide advice on development application referrals in relation to environmental and building regulations incl acoustic contamination, building compliances and regulations.
- Receive and investigate complaints from residents, businesses, or other stakeholders regarding potential environmental hazards or building code violations.
- Conduct inspections of construction sites, developments, and existing buildings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in or currently studying Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Law or relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Sound understanding in applying the regulatory functions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Local Government Act and the Protection of the Environment Operations Act
