Public Sector People are partnering with a local council in Melbourne’s northern suburbs to recruit an Environmental Project Support Officer for an exciting temporary opportunity within a climate-focused team.
We are looking for a motivated and organised professional to support the delivery of climate action projects across the organisation. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to help drive carbon reduction and climate adaptation initiatives while supporting broader environmental sustainability outcomes for the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the delivery of climate action and sustainability projects
- Assisting with project coordination, research and reporting
- Working with internal teams to build awareness and participation in climate initiatives
- Planning and coordinating meetings and stakeholder engagement activities
- Developing and maintaining web-based content in collaboration with communications teams
- Providing general project and administrative support to the team
- Qualifications in climate change, environmental management or a related discipline
- Knowledge of sustainability and climate change issues within a local government context
- Previous project support experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organisation and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Adobe InDesign and web editing skills will be highly regarded
