We are looking for a passionate Estimating Team Leader to join our client, a fast‑growing residential builder with a clear vision to deliver excellence in every project. About the Role
In this hands‑on leadership position, you will take responsibility for directing the daily workload and performance of the estimating team. You will ensure that all cost assessments, quotations and site evaluations are completed with accuracy and consistency, while championing quality standards across the team. Your leadership will help refine the estimation approach and strengthen processes to capture cost data effectively and support commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching and support to an experienced estimating team, encouraging engagement, accountability and high performance.
- Oversee the development of detailed and compliant cost proposals and site review reports, ensuring they meet expectations for accuracy and timeliness.
- Enhance and streamline current estimating practices, tools and documented procedures to improve cost capture and workflow efficiency.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to align estimating outcomes with project needs and commercial objectives.
- Monitor team tasks and outputs, identifying opportunities for upskilling, performance coaching and workflow optimisation.
You are a motivated leader with proven experience managing an estimating function, ideally within a construction or building environment. You bring strong technical knowledge of building methodology, estimating systems and compliance requirements such as town planning and Rescode. You thrive on improving systems and enabling team success.
Ideal Background
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and developing an estimating team.
- Excellent understanding of construction cost structures, building practices and compliance obligations.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and apply estimating best practice consistently.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and team development.
