Estimator

Design & Build are seeking an Estimator to join a fast-growing residential builder known for delivering architecturally-designed homes across Melbourne’s most prestigious suburbs. This is a hands-on Estimator role where you’ll be responsible for managing the full estimating process on luxury residential projects. You'll be working closely with the Director and the broader project team, with plenty of room to influence systems, contribute to business growth, and take on more responsibility as the team expands. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Analyse architectural plans, specifications, and other project documentation to develop accurate cost estimates for high-end residential construction projects
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, material pricing, and labour estimates for various trades and scopes of work
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate contracts and terms
• Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and design integrity
• Supporting procurement and project delivery where needed

• 3+ years’ experience estimating architecturally designed residential projects ($4m+ value)
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and detailing
• Excellent attention to detail - able to pick up on inconsistencies or issues early
• Proficiency in Excel, Adobe/PDF, and willingness to explore new software
• A proactive, accountable approach - you manage your own time and deliver reliably
• A collaborative mindset - happy to grow with the team and help shape the business
