Estimator
Design and Build has partnered with an established and reputable Tier 2 commercial builder, seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Brisbane team.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of commercial and industrial, new build an fit out projects with a strong pipeline of upcoming tenders.
You will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, ensuring tenders are submitted with precision and confidence. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and trusted subcontractors to deliver well-considered pricing solutions that balance cost, quality, and value.
This is a super exciting time to join their business with so much work in the pipeline, it is a standalone role with a view to grow the team further.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for tenders and proposals.
- Review drawings, specifications and project documents to determine scope and resources required.
- Assess subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Coordinate tender submissions and support bid strategy discussions.
- Identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, and construction trends.
- Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to align project goals with cost plans.
To be considered for the role of Estimator you must:
- Have at least five years post graduate experience as an Estimator
- Have experience as an Estimator within the commercial space
- Have experience of construction projects valued up to at least $5mil
- Have strong cost management skills
- Be confident liaising with architects, engineers and other consultants
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage a program to time and budget
- Effective communicator
