Contract: 3 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $40 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating Council’s civic and community events program.
- Support operational delivery of events such as citizenship ceremonies, commemorations, markets, and other civic activities.
- Provide on-site event support, including set-up and pack-down.
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers for event equipment and services.
- Support major festivals and events (e.g., Granny Smith Festival, Christmas, NYE Fireworks, Lunar New Year, Cork & Fork, Australia Day).
- Assist community organisers to run safe events on Council land in compliance with policies.
- Liaise with internal teams and marketing staff to ensure smooth delivery and promotion of events.
- Facilitate meetings and provide advice on Council events.
- ertiary qualification in Events or minimum 3 years’ experience in event planning, delivery, and evaluation
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Proven ability to plan, manage, and evaluate events achieving social or cultural outcomes
- Experience coordinating event logistics and infrastructure procurement
- Strong time management and attention to detail under deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholder engagement
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with Council teams and the community
