We’re currently seeking an experienced Events Officer to lead and deliver a diverse portfolio of high-impact civic events for a local council in the north-eastern Suburbs. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to shape and deliver some of the city’s most meaningful community celebrations and recognition events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the Annual Councillor Event Program, including the Annual Grant Celebration, Community Awards, and Australian Citizenship Ceremonies.
  • Develop detailed event plans covering timelines, budgets, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate logistics and approvals across departments and vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Ensure events comply with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly for Citizenship Ceremonies.
  • Oversee on-the-ground event delivery, promptly resolving issues to ensure exceptional experiences.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to develop communications and promotional strategies.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement through planning meetings and regular updates.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and apply best practices in event planning.
About You:
  • Proven experience coordinating civic or large-scale events, ideally with exposure to the aged care or community services sector.
  • Candidates will need to use aged care industry knowledge to solve problems and undertake advocacy where required.
  • Skilled in balancing competing priorities and working across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and reporting, and navigate organisational processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience within local government or the public sector.
This is a great opportunity to step into a rewarding role that brings the community together through well-executed and meaningful events. Please apply direct. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
