Public Sector People are currently seeking experienced HR professionals
with local government backgrounds
for a variety of upcoming contract roles
across Victoria, metropolitan and regional councils.
We are inviting expressions of interest
from individuals with demonstrated capability across operational and strategic HR functions, particularly those who can confidently support leaders, navigate employee/industrial relations, and deliver on best-practice people solutions in a public sector setting.
We are keen to hear from:
- Senior HR Business Partners
- HR Business Partners
- HR Advisors and Officers
- People & Culture Specialists
- Recruitment Coordinators and Talent Acquisition Officers
- Providing strategic and operational HR advice to managers and departments
- Coaching leaders on performance, conduct, development, and engagement
- Leading and supporting end-to-end recruitment processes, including classification and onboarding
- Managing and advising on employee and industrial relations issues
- Leading or contributing to workplace investigations and resolution processes
- Reviewing, developing and implementing HR policies, processes, and systems
- Supporting organisational development, workforce planning and change management initiatives
- Interpreting and applying local government Enterprise Agreements, Awards and legislation
- Prior experience in a local council or related public sector organisation
- A sound understanding of public sector HR frameworks, industrial instruments and compliance
- Strong relationship management and coaching capabilities across diverse stakeholder groups
- The ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments and meet organisational priorities
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
Public Sector People work in partnership with councils across Victoria and have a strong pipeline of temporary and contract roles. Many of our assignments lead to extensions or ongoing opportunities.
