Finance Business Partner – Capital Projects
Western Melbourne | $61–$72 per hour + super | 3-month contract | 38 hours per week

Our client is a progressive and community-focused local council committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure and services that enhance the lives of residents. They are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner – Capital Projects to join their team on a temporary basis and play a key role in supporting the delivery of capital works and operating projects.

This opportunity offers the chance to work closely with the Enterprise and Project Management Office (ePMO) and project managers, ensuring all projects are delivered within financial parameters and aligned with strategic goals. You’ll provide meaningful financial insights, advice and analysis that support responsible and effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with the ePMO and project managers to manage capital and operating projects within financial constraints.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for capital works and operating projects.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide timely financial advice and support.
• Deliver training and guidance on accounting, finance and reporting systems while contributing to process improvements.
• Prepare and coordinate accurate and timely financial information, including annual budgets, long-term financial plans, capital works reports and KPI reporting.

About You:
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CPA or CA qualification.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in financial partnering, budgeting and reporting roles.
• Background in Local Government, Public Sector, Healthcare or Education is highly regarded.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
