Maintenance Engineer

Middle Dural| Pharmaceutical / Regulated Manufacturing | 3-6 months Contract (Potential Extension) Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter/ Turner  to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing operation based in Middle Dural.
This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically strong maintenance professional who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and improving the reliability of production equipment, while working within a highly regulated cGMP environment.

The Role Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment, critical utilities and site facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

You will be involved across day-to-day maintenance, breakdown response, contractor coordination, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and breakdown response
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, utility and control-system faults
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and implement practical reliability improvements
  • Maintain critical utilities including HVAC, cleanroom, water, steam and compressed air systems
  • Coordinate external contractors, servicing, testing and certification activities
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders through the CMMS
  • Support GMP documentation, change control, calibration, validation and equipment qualification
  • Assist with deviations, investigations, CAPAs, audits and compliance activities
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning and project activities including FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ and PQ
  • Contribute to shutdown planning, technical specifications and continuous improvement projects
  • Work closely with Production, QA/QC, Validation, Warehouse and external service providers
  • Ensure all maintenance and contractor activities are completed in line with WHS and site safety requirements
What We're Looking For We're looking for a practical, technically capable maintenance professional with strong fault-finding skills and experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you will have:
  • A trade or tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline
  • Relevant maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and CMMS systems
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment and critical utilities
  • Knowledge of WHS, isolation, permits, contractor management and risk assessment
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and equipment documentation
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Appropriate electrical licences/authorisations where required
  • Pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing experience is highly regarded
  • Exposure to cGMP, calibration, validation and change control is desirable
