to join a local council on Sydney's North Shore
Contract length:
4 months
Hours p/w:
35 hours including out of hours work, generally twice a month. The out of hours work could finish between 8pm-11pm

Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of Council and Committee meetings, including after-hours participation.
- Preparing and proofing Council agendas, coordinating with report writers and senior staff.
- Taking meeting minutes and assisting with compliance-related documentation.
- Contributing to policy development and governance training initiatives.
- Assisting in access to information requests under relevant NSW legislation.
- Local, state or federal government experience
- Tertiary qualification in business, law, governance, public administration or similar, OR extensive experience in governance roles.
- Proven knowledge of governance principles and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, including the NSW Local Government Act 1993.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and political acumen in handling confidential information.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with meeting procedures, minute-taking, and agenda preparation.
- Experience using Technology One and Resolve(or similar systems).
