This is a contract role, paying $70-$80ph + super.
This is a pivotal role within the Corporate directorate, responsible for overseeing governance operations and ensuring Council meets its legislative and compliance obligations. You’ll play a key part in supporting Council and committee functions while shaping and strengthening governance frameworks across the organisation.
The role:
- Lead and coordinate the Governance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Provide high-level secretariat support to Council, ARIC, and other committees
- Deliver expert advice on governance, privacy, and information access matters
- Oversee GIPA applications and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Develop, implement, and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and delegations
- Prepare reports and briefings for senior leadership and Council meetings
- Support internal audit processes and monitor implementation of recommendations
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Governance or a related discipline
- Local government experience preferred but state/commonwealth government experience will also be considered
- Strong working knowledge of GIPA, PPIP, and Local Government legislation
- Proven experience managing GIPA applications and information access processes
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a small team
