on a 3-month contract to start ASAP.
This Head of Technology Operations & Infrastructure
role offers the chance to lead critical IT functions while delivering impactful outcomes in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing the organisation’s infrastructure environment, service desk operations, and end-user computing with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies, cyber security frameworks, and robust infrastructure practices.
About the Role
- Lead the delivery of IT infrastructure services including network administration, cloud services, service desk operations, and systems support.
- Oversee a team of seven technical staff, including system engineers and service desk team members.
- Drive service excellence across platforms including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Citrix Cloud, SharePoint, Teams, and other collaboration tools.
- Collaborate with internal departments, vendors, and managed service providers to maintain and enhance IT services.
- Ensure systems are secure, resilient, and meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
- Support cyber security standards including Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and ACSC ISM, working closely with internal security teams.
- Apply best-practice ICT infrastructure methodologies and frameworks, and proactively manage system upgrades, migrations, and performance improvements.
- Strong leadership experience in ICT operations and infrastructure roles, ideally within local government or similar complex environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Intune.
- Solid understanding of cyber security principles and experience supporting secure IT environments.
- Demonstrated application of ICT infrastructure management methodologies, including service delivery, network infrastructure, and systems integration.
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, service-level agreements, and technical projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline (certifications such as Microsoft, CCNA, or Security+ highly regarded).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
