Housing Manager

Brisbane | Hybrid Working
Full-Time
Competitive salary + super + salary packaging

A well-established community housing provider in Queensland is entering a significant phase of growth, with a strong pipeline of new developments coming online. As part of this expansion, there is an opportunity for an experienced Housing Manager to join a stable, values-led organisation focused on delivering long-term housing outcomes for residents.

This is a role that blends end-to-end property management with a more purpose-driven, community-focused approach, supporting residents to maintain sustainable tenancies while ensuring portfolios are well-managed and commercially sound.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a collaborative tenancy team, you will take ownership of a residential portfolio, managing all aspects of tenancy and property performance. This includes both day-to-day operations and contributing to broader service delivery across the organisation.

Your role will involve:
  • Managing a portfolio of affordable and community housing properties
  • Overseeing tenancy lifecycles including allocations, leasing, rent reviews and exits
  • Supporting residents to sustain long-term tenancies, including those with more complex needs
  • Monitoring arrears, vacancies and tenancy compliance
  • Conducting property inspections and coordinating maintenance requirements
  • Engaging with residents, stakeholders and internal teams to ensure a consistent service approach
  • Contributing to projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the housing function

This is not a traditional real estate role, it offers the opportunity to work in a more structured, team-based environment, without the pressure of multiple landlords, while still maintaining professional standards around portfolio performance.

About You

You will bring experience across residential property or tenancy management, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced and people-focused environment.

You are likely to demonstrate:
  • Experience managing a property or housing portfolio
  • Confidence working with a diverse tenant group, including vulnerable or complex cohorts
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with residents and stakeholders
  • Good organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A balanced approach - understanding both resident outcomes and business performance
  • Emotional resilience and sound judgement when navigating sensitive situations
  • Comfort working across systems and adapting to new processes
A current driver's licence is required for property visits.

Why Consider This Role
  • Join an organisation with a clear growth trajectory and long-term investment in housing delivery
  • Be part of a stable, collaborative team environment with strong internal support functions
  • Access flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options
  • Benefit from salary packaging to increase take-home pay
  • Additional wellbeing initiatives and leave entitlements
  • Ongoing professional development and internal progression opportunities
About the Organisation

This role sits within a not-for-profit housing provider focused on delivering safe, affordable housing and supporting residents to achieve stability over the long term. The organisation operates with a strong balance of commercial discipline and social purpose, with continued growth planned across Queensland.
