Our client, a local council in Melbourne's north-east, is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner  to join their People and Culture team on a temporary 3 month full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, providing expert employee relations advice, and contributing to strategic people initiatives in a collaborative and values-driven environment.

About the Role Reporting to the Manager Human Resources, you will partner with leaders across the organisation to provide expert advice across the full employee lifecycle. You'll play a key role in supporting organisational change, managing complex employee relations matters, reviewing policies and procedures, and delivering strategic HR projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trusted HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Coach and support managers on employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Interpret employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Manage complex employee relations, investigations and performance matters.
  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment and organisational development initiatives.
  • Deliver HR projects including employee engagement, reporting and system improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
About You To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in a HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor position.
  • Strong employee and industrial relations experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment legislation.
  • Experience developing HR policies and procedures.
  • The ability to influence, coach and build trusted relationships with leaders.
  • Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Previous experience within Local Government, State Government, Community Health or another unionised environment will be highly regarded.
