HSE Manager | CBD Major Project | Datacentres | Site Based
 
We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager or Senior Advisor  to join a major construction project team, leading safety performance and driving a proactive Safety-First culture across site operations.

This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance, influencing site teams, and embedding best-practice health and safety systems across a high-risk construction environment.

About the Role You will be responsible for leading site-based HSE activities, partnering with project leadership, subcontractors, and delivery teams to ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained. You will provide visible safety leadership on site, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous improvement across project operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and promote a strong Safety-First culture across the project
  • Provide visible HSE leadership and guidance to site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, project requirements, and company HSE systems
  • Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and SWMS reviews
  • Lead and support incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
  • Monitor contractor compliance and drive improvement across site operations
  • Identify training requirements and support the development of safety capability across teams
  • Work collaboratively with project leadership to proactively manage safety risks and opportunities
About You
  • Tertiary or formal WHS qualification (Cert IV minimum; Diploma preferred)
  • Proven experience in senior HSE roles within commercial construction environments, HVAC, High voltage etc 
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety across large-scale or complex construction projects
  • Experience leading incident investigations (ICAM experience desirable)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence project teams at all levels
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced site environment
