Sydney (Site-Based Role)
$80k + super (& above based on experience)
A leading national HVAC & mechanical services contractor is looking for a Junior Project Engineer to join their team. This role will be primarily site-based, acting as the key link between site operations and the office-based project teams.
It’s a great opportunity for someone with around 2 years’ experience who wants to get hands-on exposure on-site while still learning the full project lifecycle under experienced leadership.
The Role
Working closely with site teams, Project Managers, and office-based engineers, you’ll support the coordination and delivery of mechanical projects across a diverse portfolio.
Project Portfolio
New build construction projects, & technical upgrades and refurbishments across:
- Commercial fit-outs
- Schools and student accommodation
- Government and defence projects
- Major infrastructure works
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities and liaise with office project teams
- Assist in managing subcontractors, suppliers, and site logistics
- Support delivery from design through to commissioning
- Review drawings and ensure works are delivered in line with specifications
- Manage RFIs, site documentation, and reporting
- Assist with procurement, planning, and cost tracking
- Ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Around 2 years’ experience in HVAC / mechanical building services
- Experience or strong interest in site-based project engineering
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- $80k + super (flexible depending on experience)
- Hands-on, site-based experience on commercial HVAC projects
- Mentorship from experienced engineers and project managers
- Clear progression within a leading national contractor
