As Council continues to strengthen its environmental sustainability and climate resilience initiatives, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Integrated Water Management professional to lead the development and delivery of innovative water management outcomes across the municipality.
About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Sustainability and Climate Resilience, the Integrated Water Management Lead will provide strategic leadership for Council's Integrated Water Management Program and Water Sensitive Urban Design portfolio.
Lead the identification, prioritisation and delivery of integrated water management opportunities across the municipality, ensuring alignment with Council's Integrated Water Management Framework, Melbourne Water's Healthy Waterways Strategy and broader local and regional priorities.
Working across multiple departments and with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, you will drive collaboration, strengthen organisational capability and champion best-practice approaches to sustainable water management.
A key focus of the role will be leading strategic planning, policy development, project scoping and the delivery of innovative initiatives that enhance environmental outcomes, improve asset performance and support sustainable urban growth.
You will also represent Council in regional and industry forums, build strong partnerships with water authorities, government agencies, developers and consultants, and help shape the future of water management across the municipality.

You are an experienced water management, environmental or engineering professional with strong expertise in Integrated Water Management and Water Sensitive Urban Design.
You bring demonstrated experience leading the development of strategies, policies, guidelines and projects, coupled with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence outcomes across complex organisational environments.
Your technical expertise is complemented by your strategic thinking, project management capability and ability to bring people together around shared objectives.
You are collaborative, solutions-focused and passionate about delivering sustainable outcomes that create lasting benefits for communities and the environment.
Ideally, you will possess qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Urban Design or a related discipline, along with experience working within local government, water authorities, consulting or a comparable environment.
Importantly, you are comfortable operating at both the strategic and operational level, providing expert advice, driving continuous improvement and fostering strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
