Lead Digital Transformation in Local Government: IT Change Manager Opportunity

Are you a seasoned IT Change Manager with a passion for driving large-scale digital transformations? Do you excel at navigating complex stakeholder environments to deliver impactful technology solutions?

We are excited to partner with a leading local council in Sydney to find an experienced IT Change Manager for a 12-month contract, offering a unique opportunity to lead significant digital initiatives.

The Role:
As the IT Change Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and successful implementation of critical IT projects and initiatives that are transforming the way our client delivers services to the community.

Do you have:

  • Proven IT Change Leadership (5-10+ Years)
  • End-to-End Change Management Mastery: Demonstrated success in managing all stages of change, including comprehensive stakeholder analysis, strategic communication planning, effective training development, and seamless release management across project teams, internal stakeholders, and the community.
  • Customer-First Digital Delivery: Deep understanding and proven experience in delivering change management for customer-centric digital solutions such as self-service portals and major website overhauls, ideally within high-volume service environments.
  • Waterfall Project Governance: Recent and strong experience working within a Waterfall methodology to meticulously plan, execute, and monitor complex IT changes, ensuring rigorous governance and the achievement of clear project milestones.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Exceptional ability to coordinate change across approximately 10 business units and guide cross-functional teams of around 20 internal members (plus vendor resources), fostering strong stakeholder engagement and alignment at all levels of the organisation.
  • Technical Translation & Communication: Ability to understand technical nuances and collaborate effectively with technical teams to craft clear and concise communications, effectively conveying potential impacts and recommendations to senior leadership in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • CRM/Vendor Platform Advantage: Familiarity with CRM or vendor-management platforms, particularly in the context of significant portal enhancements or customer service expansions, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional Communication skills
  • Professional certifications in change management (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) are considered a strong asset, demonstrating a robust and structured approach to delivering change.
