A local council in the inner  south-west is seeking a It Desktop Support Officer for a 3-month contract, starting immediately. This role requires you in the officer 5 days per week. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication: Send email communication to staff with deployment schedule and arrange an appointment. 
  •  Windows 11 Installation: Carry out clean installations or upgrade existing systems from older versions (such as Windows 10) to Windows 11.
  • User Profile Configuration: Set up user profiles, including personalized desktop preferences, network settings, and custom configurations.
  • Assist with Application Compatibility Testing: Ensure the organization's critical applications and third-party software are compatible with Windows 11.
  • Network Configuration: Verify and set up all necessary network configurations (Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.) on devices.
  •  Troubleshooting and Ongoing Support: Address any issues that arise post-deployment, including hardware and software conflicts or user inquiries and escalate to Support admins accordingly.
  • End-user Training: Provide training for users on new Windows 11 features and changes, especially if there are significant differences in the UI or workflows.
  • Collaboration with Support Teams: Coordinate with other IT teams to resolve issues and ensure a smooth deployment process.
  • Manage Out-of-Warranty Devices: Collect devices that are out of warranty, securely wipe the data, and arrange for their decommissioning.

Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with BIOS configurations
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune- Autopilot, Device compliance, Configuration profiles, Application deployments.
  •  Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager- PXE boot, Device management, Task sequences.
  •  Experience with providing customer service, logging defects, contributing to process improvements, updating documentation, and driving continuous improvement efforts.
